Pink Power

OK, I never post twice on the same day, but this deserves it:

In all of my self-indulgent whining and focus on law school, I completely forgot to address something that I feel more strongly about than any of the above: Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October is devoted to pink: to the awareness of the prevalence of breast cancer, but also to the many, many efforts to both eradicate and prevent it.

Encourage your mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, or ANYONE you care about to get screened.

It has been so satisfying for me to drive down King Street everyday and see all the local business' windows filled with painted pink breast cancer symbols, or words of inspiration, or just the mere recognition that October is devoted to Breast Cancer Awareness.

This is a cause I fight so strongly for because NO ONE has to die from this; there are so many ways to screen for breast cancer and CURE it, if caught in time.

My favorite Susan B. Komen shirt that I own states, "Ignite Change. Ignite a Cure."

That is what this month is about, and I encourage everyone to become involved. It is a very personal cause for me, but anyone could be affected, so take charge.
