Alison, Ashley, Lindsey, Grey, Amanda and several others all crowded the bar at Delaney's waiting on 4 pm to come so we could view the results. Alex, who is normally very jovial, seemed like he was going to throw up at any minute. Alison and I both seemed equally as nervous as we obsessively refreshed the internet on our Blackberrys waiting for the post to go up. Finally, shortly before 4 Alex received a text that said "Congrats!" Alison and I refreshed the page one more time and sure enough, he passed.
The feeling in the room was infectious. Everyone cheered, celebrated, toasted and congratulated Alex on all of his efforts and endeavors.
As nervous as I am about even thinking about the bar, and as much as I can't stand all the arduous and stressful school I have to endure before the bar, the moment of excitement Alex had when he got his results, and what I can only imagine is the ultimate feeling of accomplishment to go along with it, made me think that this really is all worth it. I only hope I'm lucky enough to pass it the first go round, but for the first time in a LONG time I was actually excited and optimistic about school again (the Veuve Cliquot we drank to celebrate certainly helped!).
As my friend Jennifer joked, "well we know you never usually pass a bar!"
Here are a few pics from our celebration:
