As I have expressed previously, I am very much an all-or-nothing type person. I can exhibit amazing will power in making myself exercise everyday even if I don't want to, or eating healthy (but only until 5 pm; then all bets are off), but when exams roll around will power takes a little vacation and my vices show up for a full blown party.
I am usually not at all a "sweets" person. I love an occassional chocolate indulgence, but beyond that I crave salty foods. For whatever reason, studying for exams makes me crave candy like a mad woman. Fortunately, Tiffany works for Lexis Nexis and they keep a stocked candy drawer in the library so on any given day recently my diet has consisted of: a balanced breakfast; 34 pieces of candy for lunch; entirely too many diet sodas mid-afternoon; wine and something melty cheesy and unhealthy for dinner.
I should be shot for even slightly questioning why I was feeling unhealthy this morning.
However, as unhealthy as this is (and yes, I'm very aware of how unhealthy that many diet sodas and sugar intake a day is), I have to pick and choose my mental battles during exams when my brain is taxed beyond belief. My will power is like a 2 year old - don't upset it or you deal with the wrath, so at this point I will feed it all the chocolate and Laffy Taffy and Diet Coke it needs just to get me through exams. After that, we'll re-evaluate.
