I'm so fucking tired of hearing about the fucking royal wedding. Excuse my obscenities, but there's no other way to convey my feelings.
I usually stick to Headline News (a CNN subsidiary) in the mornings because they tend to forego the NONSENSE that the Today show features, but even they couldn't resist covering every ridiculous nuance and detail of the "royal wedding." I have actually yet to figure out the royalty of this situation - Kate and William's lives are being dictated (whether they choose to acknowledge it or not) by the Queen, who seems to be a ginormous bitch; they basically just sold their souls to the media; if history proves anything they'll be divorced before either of them take a "throne" and if you ask me, I find them boring.
Mostly, I don't understand America's obsession with the whole deal. The American media chastises, berates and pokes fun at Prince Charles, William and Harry until they do something like get engaged and then it's all they feature. Nevermind that people are dying in Japan because they can't get clean drinking water, or they're living and working in cities lit up like bug zappers because they're full of radioactivity, or that 217 people were killed throughout the Southeast yesterday by tornados, or that 1/6 of the nation's population doesn't have enough food each day. You're right, media, that's boring. Let's watch a couple of stiffs drop a whole country's GNP on a ridiculous wedding, so that the young couple can just frolic off and be "royal" because they clearly have no other redeeming attributes.
Rant over. Back to studying.
